			== Background ==
			Serris Gladuc was forged multiple millennia before the start of [[Campaign 3]] by two celestial brothers to aid in fulfilling a prophecy to usher in a new Age of Heroes. Though the brothers both assisted, they disagreed on the precise way this sword would fulfill this purpose. One desired him to be claimed by a vampire lord after she claimed her throne, with Serris aiding her up to the point where heroes would come to reclaim him and overthrow her. The other wished for him to be claimed by a hero on the path to villainy, with Serris acting as a friend and mentor to them to pull them onto the right path.

			Once he was completed, Serris was put into a hidden temple, with no memories of his exact purpose or his crafters, only knowing he would one day be claimed and that once that day came, he would remember everything he needs to fulfill his purpose.

			However, once the Book of Prophecies was destroyed, fate broke. Previously divined events were no longer guaranteed to pass. Serris' fate was one of these. Without intending to, while waiting to be claimed, Serris dreamed one fateful night a vision like he'd seen many times before: him being picked up by a hero, and traveling outside to adventure. Except this time, it was an avatar projected by the sword itself that did this. Wishing to restore the prophecy so he may fulfill his purpose, Serris set out in search of heroes, hoping to one day find the one meant to wield him.
