=== Elta Delta ===
Elta Delta is many things. She's impulsive and reckless. She is quick to shoot and fire when in danger. She talks to her mortar like it's her mom, and she takes the chance to make outlandish acronyms whenever one comes up. By all means, Elta is a wildcard that people are regularly confused about, with each action of hers often put into questioning.

However, compared to the other Eltas introduced to the party, Delta ends up being the most safe and sane of the Eltas. She's kind and creative. She's reserved and polite. She's often softspoken compared to the rest of the party, choosing to just listen for a good 80% of the time. In her downtime, Elta Delta retreats to her inn room or somewhere else quiet, often waiting for when the party needs to retrieve her - if they need her technical and mechanical expertise, or whatever else she can help with. As odd as Delta is, she's quite thoughtful of everyone around her, and is willing to help whenever she can.

That is exactly why Delta has the personalities to begin with. When Delta's mind isn't enough, she can deeply trance herself as necessary. These personalities are better suited to think on scenarios Delta is unfamiliar with, and are often crucial for Elta to adapt to the situations that the party finds themselves in.

Her connection to the other Eltas' personalities are entirely dependent on whatever's sent to her earbuds.
The Beta Protocol was readily available. Beta, supposedly, retains the memories from before the earbuds first installed her personality.
The Alpha Protocol is something that was sent straight to her. "Alpha" is just a personality without memory. as none of Alpha's memories are given to Delta.

=== Elta Beta ===
Elta Beta is "designed". At her very core, Beta is supposed to be a mindless and soulless vessel meant to carry out another's will. Her compliance is attuned to the standards of the Sinner's Chalice, roughly, and she thrives in settings of pure deception and espionage. Beta is specifically meant to be completely mindless for the sake of the objective, abandoning all thought so that others may not take her.

Ideally, Elta Beta's every action is to be done under another's control. She takes excessive pride in herself and whoever is controlling her.
Given free will, however, Elta Beta is an expressive nuisance. Beta is taunting and mocking, willing to insult any aspect she sees fit. She will

If one thinks about it carefully, Elta Beta is the social butterfly of the Eltas. She goes out of her way to engage with the party at times, seeking out whoever can entertain her.

She acts utterly spoiled and pompous, and has grand fantasies of being given the world on a silver platter - with a brief fantasy of having her own mansion and three entire buildings dedicated to her greatness.

She shows complete disregard for all organic life, despising how many errors and mistakes there are in people's freedom. One can say Beta's own flawed personality is a reflection of her beliefs, that people are better as enslaved vessels rather than "stupid, dumb imp-seals (imbeciles)".

=== Elta Alpha ===
"The Alpha Protocol", a program active when an Elta becomes Elta Alpha, is the third addition to the party's Elta arsenal. Its activation came when Elta Delta and Elta Beta were knocked unconscious, causing Alpha's existence to take hold of both bodies. The Alpha Protocol maintains a remote connection between the two bodies through the earbuds, treating itself as a program occupying either one or none of the bodies at a time.

As a reflection of the supposedly real Elta Alpha, the Alpha Protocol is cold and cruel. It reflects an individual who lacks any sort of sympathy or empathy. It does not truly care for others beneath it, and it acts for its own calculated self interest above all else. She constantly pushes her pride in people's faces, asserting herself as a competitive individual who wins at any cost. After all, Alpha does not see failure as an acceptable possibility. Victory is absolute to Elta Alpha.

The Alpha Protocol's objective, as far as anyone is concerned, is the party's success and freedom over the Master, and that's all that it particularly feels like showing.

When she's not being murderous or secretive, the Alpha Protocol is... extra. Very extra. She draws chalk-doodle tactical plans on walls, floors, and ceilings of her room. She consumes food and drink in bizarre ways that evoke confusion in even Orin.

There's a distinct difference between The Alpha Protocol's mannerisms depending on which Elta she's in. In Delta, Alpha is in her default state, speaking in her full natural voice with freedom to act as she wishes. In Beta, Alpha takes more of a subdued and submissive tone.

=== Speech Mannerisms ===
The Eltas have an interesting... quirk. Apparently, they're not fully proficient with Common as a language, and sometimes trip on their words in weird ways.

Delta's failings is misusing certain words, to unfortunate degrees. Sometimes, she says things that roughly use the same words, like "firing someone" rather than firing at someone, or "horse play" whenever riding a horse.

It sounds innocent enough, but this does lead to moments where her words are misconstrued to inappropriate degrees. Her first meeting with Leah is the earliest known case in the campaign, referring to hiring Leah for a job as "going into labor". Later on, she spoke with Danalyth and referred to Danalyth being upset about a paper from her backpack as being "sore from taking it from behind".

Given the right circumstances, Elta Delta may inevitably end up describing an interrogation where she fires a shotgun with spherical ammunition "cock and ball torture".

Beta's quirk is struggling with vocabulary. Once in a while, when Beta encounters a big or unknown word, she ends up mispronouncing it and using a similar yet different word. Chipper becomes "chopper" by accident, for example.

With Delta brainwashed as Beta, this trait is very exaggerated. She calls Barbarians "Barbies", chakra as "chalka", pep talks as "peppy speeches", uncomfortable as "uncomfy", and assume as... "ass yum".
Pronunciation-wise, she struggles to pronounce "vigilant" and "suspicious" - despite Beta handling these words perfectly later on.

Other cases:

* When Beta approached Kaisume, "statistically" was pronounced as "statis-tacky".
* When Beta was approached by Shard, she struggled with "inconspicuous". Her exact mispronunciation: "incone... conshpi... consp- somewhere private."

The Alpha Protocol's speech quirk is far too subtle to notice, as it is mostly a consequence of her being blunt and direct with people. Sure, she's consistent and correct when it comes to using words properly, but her struggles are with semantics and subtlety, leading to moments where she comes off as an utterly uncaring sociopath.

For example: "The sister is practically lost to us, now" simply meant "I cannot find her", but has a far more intense and anger-inducing meaning.

Furthermore, Alpha has the tendencies to refer to people by species, class, or occupation rather than their actual names. Shard was referred to as a "dysfunctional kineticist" once, Danalyth is consistently called "sorceress", and Serris is "sword" to her.
While Crimie is "rat" to her, Alpha HAS called Crimie by direct name. Names may be directly connected to her emotional state towards each individual person.

Every one of Elta's speech mannerisms are more noticeable during text channels, when the player (Q) is typing instead of speaking all of this out loud. As of right now, Samirah is the only one directly aware of Common not being the Eltas' first language, as only she knows about Elta Delta's earbuds supposedly translating all Common to an Elta-compatible language.

It is necessary. We must attain that prize, no matter what.

On Alpha's insistence, the team with Elta, Shard, and Lydia is called "Absolute Protocol". Alpha's claim is that they are guaranteed to win, and their victory is as absolute as the team name is.

With concerns of how things at the tavern are, especially with Rubellite left by her lonesome with Beta, Alpha switched back to check and report back to the party. (In Between Scene events, with Alpha's happening the same day, while Delta's is presumably the morning after).

During the three days, Elta Alpha has been reported doing... weird things, by Orin.

Elta Alpha has a bit of a complication with Shard, calling her useless and worthless as a team member. She breaks into anger and shouts after Shard, alarming the entire group - and, incidentally, giving Delta more will to resist Alpha's control on the day the competition starts.

The party goes to find information on the game. While everyone is off on their own, Elta Delta specifically walks up to Adam Sandler (the vampire guy) and manages to consult his photographic memory to remember the ENTIRE WHEEL. Alpha attempts to regain control at this moment, but Delta resists... but not for long.

Over across the first round of the gameshow, Alpha has been wrestling for control over Delta. Several times, those earbuds have been trying to take over Delta, and Delta's been resisting (ever since the argument with Shard). Samirah trancing Alpha manages to free Delta in the middle of the round, but Alpha started SCREAMING for control the moment when Shard was subjected to the Trial of Will and the earbuds started flaring red and green. Delta's own body recoils, almost churning in the inside to Delta's complete distress.

At the end of the round, upon the acting troupe's loss, Team "Godhood" (or whatever they were called) declared they could free anyone who lost this game at the end, and that they should win. Alpha is quick to step up and call them out, publicly calling them untrustworthy liars. Danalyth promised the safety of everyone who lost, and Elta Alpha joined in on the list of people stepping up to make the same promise.

Alpha, now not on any of the party's teams, walks off on her own. Completely disconnected from the group, effectively making it harder for the party to access the tavern.

=== Odd/Random Bits ===
* Elta Delta wanted to raise a sentient lobotomy/amnesia mask as a pet. Unfortunately, it starved to death.
* The reason why Elta made a tank was because of a class perk that got written into the story. The reason it ISN'T a tank anymore is because Elta doesn't meet the pre-requisite for the tank and it had to be retconned. Instead of retconning, the tank exploded. That is why the tank was a temporary addition.
* Q did a little doodle of Alpha drawing in the room with chalk at the beginning of September 27's session, jokingly drawing Goku and the gameshow as easter eggs. Later that session, Alex Baker (in the Goku haircut) appears and invites the party to a full blown gameshow contest. This means that Elta Alpha has accidentally predicted the future.
* Elta Delta and her protocols possess hypnotic qualities that embody the phrase "See No Evil. Hear No Evil. Speak No Evil."
* Delta is closely connected to "Hear", as a lot of control over her relies on her own earbuds to do the heavy lifting. Those entranced by her focus on the sound of the earbuds, hearing their relaxing waves.
* Beta is "Speak". Her words are deceptive and elaborate, and are used to ease and guide people into mindlessness. This also applies to her trances, as a lot of her words could also be considered "vocal".
* By process of elimination, Alpha is "See". Her main method of hypnosis is deeply focused on sight, either stripping Delta/Beta of their own memories or entrancing others with visual hypnotic methods.

=== Elta Delta's Acronyms ===
* M.A.M.A. is the acronym for Elta Delta's mortar. It stands for "Massive Artillery for Mobile Assembly".
* P.H.O.N.E. is the acronym for the device connected to Elta Delta's earbuds and tech in general. "Programmable Handheld for an Operational Nexus Excellence."
* "O.O.R.P.H.A.N." is apparently Elta Delta calling herself an orphan? Stands for: "Orc or Otherwise Representing Personification of Handmade Activity Neural-Networks."

=== Musical Bits ===
Q has taken additional time to make Spotify playlists to focus on his characters. This is its own category, to list his own imagination when it comes to character music.
* Normal Battle Theme - Storm Eagle (Mega Man X)
* Gun Battle Theme - Force Your Way (Final Fantasy VIII)
* Mortar Battle Theme - Gang-Plank Galleon (Smash Bros Ultimate)
* Super INTENSE VERY INTENSE BATTLE - Birth of a Wish (Nier Automata)
** Beta - Birth of a Wish/Become a God
** Alpha - Birth of a Wish/This Cannot Continue

As Enemies:
* vs. Delta - eScape (Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood)
* vs. Beta - Theory of Beauty (Yakuza)
* vs. Alpha - Kings (Project Wingman)

Songs/Themes I've Had For Elta Since Day One:
* Elta - Song to the Siren (Snyder's Justice League), which is specifically the Rose Betts version
* Delta - Time in a Bottle (Discovery of Witches). The original song is Jim Croce's, while this version is by Rob Lane/Julia Church

And every other song that happens to be in this Spotify Playlist has no significance whatsoever. It's just there as a song that exists because Q adds songs randomly.

As of right now, Samirah is the only one directly aware of Common not being the Eltas' first language, as only she knows about Elta Delta's earbuds supposedly translating all Common to an Elta-compatible language.

Background

The tale of Elta Delta is as simple as any other. Born under a mother of the same name, Elta Delta wanted nothing more than to be a good daughter. She studied the same interests, and (WIP nonsense I'm too lazy to type out).

However, Delta ended up committing a grave mistake.

So now, Elta Delta set off into the world to make up for her mistake, to gain forgiveness from her only mother. She prepared herself with programs meant to shield her from the (mind controlling) dangers of the world, dedicating herself to a routine brainwashing for her own safety.

Campaign 3

Elta Delta had the task of breaking out Shard from prison.

In seeking allies to carry out said task, she found an alchemist named Leah who joined her under the guise that Elta was - and this is quoted, by the way - "GOING INTO LABOR." The linguistic mix-up caused the two to go to the prison via rowboat.

Elta had been considered by many to be... a mystery. Many roll their eyes at her numerous comments, and her destructive tendencies tended to make the party on high alert every time she came up with an idea. She held the desire to tame a lobotomizing mask as a pet (only for it to perish due to neglect), caused a sudden life-threatening incident with shooting open a waterfall, attempted to intimidate two dwarven workers only for them to almost be excused of all their debts, so on and so forth.

On the other hand, Elta had strong skills in tinkering with machinery, repairing various trinkets and objects, and creating things like a flying umbrella and a giant massive tank (before it blew up).

Elta Beta

At some point, the party needed to infiltrate the Sinner's Chalice, with a special urgency after Kaisume and Shard's fall. Thus, Elta Delta tapped into the "Beta Protocol" and tranced herself into becoming Elta Beta, attempting to infiltrate the Chalice with all the pre-programmed information Beta has.

While in the Chalice, Beta was active for the longest while.

Elta Delta TURNED INTO A DRAGON yay.

Eye of Immortality Nonsense

During the party, the Eye of Immortality started to switch blah blah blah.

At some point, Elta Delta and Elta Beta ended up becoming two different bodies.

Around the time Elta Beta was with Kaisume and Shard, Beta's own suspicions resulted in her checking to see the earbuds were NOT recording anything. Beta was calmed by the logic that everything before that point was recorded, but it turns out that they recorded everything AFTER.

After the boss fight, Elta Delta and Elta Beta were rejuvenated by a shock from the earbuds, their hearts continuing to beat. However, Elta Beta was disabled by the arbuds, and Elta Delta was overwritten by the Alpha Protocol. Elta Alpha, taking control while events were unfolding, put the immobilized Beta into a restraining hold with a gun in Beta's mouth. The party proved to be competent, however, meaning that Alpha's threat is null and void.

Alpha explained to everyone that, with Delta and Beta separated, there is no Elta to take over the body when entranced. Thus, the Alpha Protocol was downloaded to both earbuds, with potential results that have been yet to be discovered. With Danalyth uttering the deactivation phrase, both Delta and Beta were freed from the Alpha Protocol's current control, and... yeah.

Blah blah blah, they're at the tavern 9/13/2026.

... That is, until Elta Template:Strikethrough activated. The Alpha Protocol took back control at some point from the party to the tavern.

In the argument, the Alpha Protocol took an aggressively paranoid stance on everything going on, promptly being told to shut up. Following this, details were revealed, and Shard took over with her fit of anger. The Alpha Protocol argued for Danalyth's actions being in the right, promptly departing with Beta to leave the party to their utter nonsense.

Before the portal room's teleportation, Crimie was sent to go retrieve one of the Eltas. Alpha used chalk all over the room, drawing up schematics to defend the tavern while Elta Beta was restrained. The Alpha Protocol switched from Delta to Beta, and Delta accompanied the group.

The tracker in Danalyth's letter was promptly reverse engineered, and was now made to track in the opposite direction. Delta needed to be reminded this several minutes beforehand.

"Oh! Wait, trackers are technology!"

The tavern got teleported, leaving Delta active to fight.

The Gameshow

After the teleportation + the subsequent fights, the party ends up in a gameshow arena, hosted by Alex Baker. Teams are now being put together to do whatever it is the gameshow's going to put them through.

Upon hearing of the prize - the winning members get to sit on the Empty Throne and attain Godhood for a moment - Elta Delta tries to inform people of what this prize means, before the Alpha Protocol immediately switches and insists the party participate. It is necessary. We must attain that prize, no matter what.

The reason it ISN'T a tank anymore is because Elta doesn't meet the pre-requisite for the tank and it had to be retconned. Instead of retconning, the tank exploded. That is why the tank was a temporary addition.
  • Q did a little doodle of Alpha drawing in the room with chalk at the beginning of September 27's session, jokingly drawing Goku and the gameshow as easter eggs. Later that session, Alex Baker (in the Goku haircut) appears and invites the party to a full blown gameshow contest. This means that Elta Alpha has accidentally predicted the future.
  • Elta Delta and her protocols possess hypnotic qualities that embody the phrase "See No Evil. Hear No Evil. Speak No Evil."
  • Delta is closely connected to "Hear", as a lot of control over her relies on her own earbuds to do the heavy lifting. Those entranced by her focus on the sound of the earbuds, hearing their relaxing waves.
  • Beta is "Speak". Her words are deceptive and elaborate, and are used to ease and guide people into mindlessness. This also applies to her trances, as a lot of her words could also be considered "vocal".
  • By process of elimination, Alpha is "See". Her main method of hypnosis is deeply focused on sight, either stripping Delta/Beta of their own memories or entrancing others with visual hypnotic methods.

Elta Delta's Acronyms

  • M.A.M.A. is the acronym for Elta Delta's mortar. It stands for "Massive Artillery for Mobile Assembly".
  • P.H.O.N.E. is the acronym for the device connected to Elta Delta's earbuds and tech in general. "Programmable Handheld for an Operational Nexus Excellence."
  • "O.O.R.P.H.A.N." is apparently Elta Delta calling herself an orphan? Stands for: "Orc or Otherwise Representing Personification of Handmade Activity Neural-Networks."

Musical Bits

Q has taken additional time to make Spotify playlists to focus on his characters. This is its own category, to list his own imagination when it comes to character music.

  • Normal Battle Theme - Storm Eagle (Mega Man X)
  • Gun Battle Theme - Force Your Way (Final Fantasy VIII)
  • Mortar Battle Theme - Gang-Plank Galleon (Smash Bros Ultimate)
  • Super INTENSE VERY INTENSE BATTLE - Birth of a Wish (Nier Automata)
    • Beta - Birth of a Wish/Become a God
    • Alpha - Birth of a Wish/This Cannot Continue

As Enemies:

  • vs. Delta - eScape (Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood)
  • vs. Beta - Theory of Beauty (Yakuza)
  • vs. Alpha - Kings (Project Wingman)

Songs/Themes I've Had For Elta Since Day One:

  • Elta - Song to the Siren (Snyder's Justice League), which is specifically the Rose Betts version
  • Delta - Time in a Bottle (Discovery of Witches). The original song is Jim Croce's, while this version is by Rob Lane/Julia Church

And every other song that happens to be in this Spotify Playlist has no significance whatsoever. It's just there as a song that exists because Q adds songs randomly.
